Hello my name is abdikarim Ali I am originally from Somalia. After ten years of living in Minnesota I see my self as a good candidate for American citizenship I was so lucky and honored and accepted my application to become American. Today I consider my self Somali American, African, muslimamerican. I call home minneso because I lived more than ten years . However, people who has the knowledge of American accent tend to ask me where I came from at that point I feel that I’m ascribed different nationality or culture because I have strong accent and i say to myself that my accent and citizenship are conflicting that that time i say i am somalian or iam from africathey have a right to ask me where I come from. I myself I have tendency of asking people where they come from. And feel little bit of uncertainty of how the person feel about the question specially if they are have different accent than Americans have. But when I ask native English American speakers where they come from I feel comfortable because they will tell me which state they come from if not multiple states.
